Cash Out

How can you "cash out" with BetDEX?

Great news - you can now 'cash out' of your market position with BetDEX!

What is Cash Out?

Cash Out allows you to lock in a profit or loss before waiting for the event to start and/or finish. Using your current market position and any available prices/liquidity at that point in time, we calculate what bet you need to place to lock in the best possible profit (or loss).

How can I Cash Out?

On any event page, if you have already placed a bet, you will see the P&L you can cash out for at any time.

By clicking the dropdown, you will be shown the cash out details.

When you cash out, you are placing an order on the outcome / side that is shown, at the stake & price that is shown as well.

By clicking the blue 'Cash out' button, you are placing the order.

Alternatively, you can use the 'View in betslip' option to adjust the price & stake if you wish.

Why did I get a different amount when I cashed out to the one shown to me?

Cash out P&L is not always guaranteed as they are based on the live prices which are constantly moving (especially if you are attempting to cash out when the market is in-play).

If prices and/or liquidity changes whilst your bet is being confirmed, your cash out may result in being:

  • More than indicated (if the prices move in your favour)

  • Unsuccessful (if the price moves out of your favour and is no longer available)

  • Partially successful (if the liquidity available at that price drops)

Why is Cash Out unavailable?

There are 2 main reasons why 'Cash out' is unavailable for you:

  1. Not enough liquidity - if there is not enough liquidity available to cover the stake for the 'cash out' bet, then the option will not be available. Once more liquidity becomes available, the option will then also become available.

  2. Market Position - currently, we have implemented 'Cash out' for 2-unique market positions (ie. when you have backed or layed on one outcome only). If you have bet on multiple outcomes* and have 3 (or more) different market positions, then 'Cash out' will not be possible right now.

*For example, on a 1X2 (Home-Draw-Away) market, if you bet $50 on Home team to win and Lay $20 on the Away team, then you cannot cash out.
